10 Things Marvel Wants You To Forget About Wolverine
1. He Broke Time
Age of Ultron was one of Marvel's billion event books. Despite sharing its name with one of the Avengers movies, the plot bears no resemblance to it.
Instead, Age of Ultron is set in a dystopian version of the Marvel Universe where Ultron managed to take over the world and kill most of its heroes. In a last ditch effort, Wolverine travels back in time to try and stop Hank Pym from building Ultron. Logan isn't really one for diplomacy though, so his master plan pretty much just involves walking into Hank's lab and stabbing him before he can finish building the robot.
Turns out another thing Logan isn't really one for is considering the full implications and ramifications of altering the past. Killing Hank Pym created a paradox that shattered the time stream. WhenLogan arrived back in the future, he found all he had done was create another dystopian timeline, one where the evil witch Morgan le Fey had wiped out Earth's heroes.
Travelling back in time again, Logan managed to stop his past self from screwing everything up again and this time just told Hank to give Ultron an off switch. Which is a plan someone who isn't a psychopath would have tried first.
