10 Things Marvel Wants You To Forget About Wolverine

After the whole steamroller incident, it's pretty understandable that Wolverine would want some revenge on the Punisher. In Wolverine #186 he got his chance.

In the issue, Frank and Logan fought again and this time it was Frank's turn to act like a truly profound moron. Apparently forgetting that he had about a million guns he could just shoot Wolverine with, he tried to knock him out with a variety of objects before Logan could do the same to him. Unsurprisingly, the guy with unbreakable bones won and Punisher was beaten senseless and thrown out a window.

Unfortunately, things didn't end there. Wolverine rummaged around in Frank's belongings and found a male workout magazine. This led to a truly cringe inducing scene in which Wolverine laughs at the Punisher and insinuates that he's gay, claiming that "It all makes sense now... you're single, neat, very organised", while Frank tries to claim that he was using it to look for suspects.

It's a truly pathetic sequence of panels, recasting two of Marvel's best anti-heroes as a couple of dumb kids arguing on the playground. It's especially bad considering that Wolverine is himself part of a group whose struggle is supposed to be symbolic of the fight against intolerance for all minorities.
