10 Things We Learned From Marvel’s “All-New, All-Different” Relaunch

7. Four No More

Fans were stunned last year when rumors began to emerge that the Fantastic Four -- Marvel's longest-running comic book -- was being cancelled. The truth, it turned out, was more complicated -- yes, Fantastic Four was ending, but so was every other book in Marvel's line as the entire universe fell to the all-encompassing Secret Wars.

Unlike the rest of the publisher's "staple" books, though, Fantastic Four isn't being resurrected -- and while The Thing is joining the Guardians of the Galaxy, Mr. Fantastic, The Invisible Woman, and The Human Torch are nowhere to be found (odds are that the flaming figure on the covers of Uncanny Avengers and Uncanny Inhumans is an Inhuman, not Johnny Storm).

It's a strange and sad status quo for Marvel's cornerstone heroes. Yes, Reed Richards promised to be held accountable for his actions as part of the Illuminati following the universal incursions, but other members of the group -- Black Panther, Black Bolt, and Beast -- are clearly part of super-teams in the new Marvel Universe. We can only guess where the former Fantastic Four will turn up... or if they'll survive Secret Wars.
