10 Things You Didn't Know About Green Lantern

6. €œEmerald Twilight€ Was Supposed To Get A Nintendo Game

For many Green Lantern fans, €œEmerald Twilight€ is the iconic storyline starring the character. In the aftermath of the €œReign Of The Supermen€ crossover (where a bunch of new heroes rushed to occupy the space of the briefly deceased Man Of Steel), Hal Jordan€™s home city was destroyed and, in turn, he goes a bit off the deep end. The storyline was a big deal for DC at the time, since it killed off a majority of the Green Lanterns, made Hal Jordan a villain called Parallax and Kyle Rayner took the role of the main GL. As a way of tying into the event they worked out a deal with the development studio Ocean to make an €œEmerald Twilight€ video game. The game would€™ve seen players guiding Kyle Rayner through seven side-scrolling platform levels, culminating in a final battle against Parallax that had a Starfox vibe. In the fact the game was actually finished, only for DC to demand changes that would have taken so much time as to not be worth doing. So they didn€™t, and the game remains unreleased.
