4. Hes Appeared In Live Action Before Ryan Reynolds
For many, Green Lantern is a name synonymous not with the rich history of the comic book character, but with the 114 minutes of their lives they cant get back after watching the terrible film adaptation of said character. Usually dependable star Ryan Reynolds and usually dependable director Martin Campbell could polish that turd, no matter what. Still, take heart: it wont be the last audiences see of the character, with a new GL film in production at Warner Bros. Its also not the first time a Green Lantern has appeared in live action, with that honour going to the bizarre live-action Superfriends spin-off Legends Of The Superheroes, where he was played by Howard Murphy. A few years later came the terrible Justice League TV movie, with Matthew Settle starring as Guy Gardner alongside M*A*S*Hs David Ogden Stiers as a portly Martian Manhunter. Doug Pinton was Alan Scott in a brief Smallville cameo, and both Arrow and The Flash have hinted at Hal Jordans existence in their own shared universe...
