5. She Would've Appeared In A Third Joel Schumacher Film
Besides the fact that they're very well crafted superhero films, part of the reason Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy was so well-received is because the last time Batman was on the big screen...it didn't end so well. After a couple of great gothic masterpieces Tim Burton was shunted off the franchise in favour of Joel Schumacher as director. Then it all went downhill, first with the semi-campy Batman Forever and then the full camp of Batman & Robin, exposed nipples and all. That second film was such a critical and commercial disaster Schumacher got the boot too, and Warner Bros kept any future Batman films on ice for the time being. Schumacher had already been working on another sequel, though. And low and behold, Harley Quinn was set to be a big part of what Schumacher was calling Batman: Triumphant. She would've been played by Madonna and starred as one of the main villains, alongside The Scarecrow, and would've been connected to Jack Nicholson's Joker from the first Burton movie the Clown Prince appearing thanks to a fear-toxin induced hallucination.
