10 Things You Didn't Know About Harley Quinn

4. Kevin Smith Named His Daughter After Her

The Suicide Squad film is going to be the first time Harley Quinn proper gets her shot at the big time, but she has a namesake who's no stranger to the glitz and glamour of Hollywood. Kevin Smith is a card-carrying geek who has put comic book references into nearly all of his slacker comedy films, and even wrote some Batman and Daredevil comics in between projects. Sure, they weren't good comics, but the guy certainly has a passion for funnybooks (hence Stan Lee's cameo in Mallrats, for example). So much so that when his first daughter was born, Smith decided to name her Harley Quinn Smith. Not even Harleen Frances, but Harley Quinn proper. Thankfully the fifteen-year-old hasn't taken to dressing up like a court jester and robbing banks with her clown boyfriend just yet, but she has her namesake beat by a good decade in terms of appearing in movies: she appeared as a baby in Smith's Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back, a kid in Clerks II, and will star in the director's upcoming comedy-horror Yoga Hosers with Johnny Depp.
