10 Things You Didn't Know About The Batcave

1. The Batcave Has A Secret Kryptonite Room

DC Comics

It's common knowledge that Superman's primary weakness is radioactive green rocks called Kryptonite. After he tired of supervillains using the emerald mineral against him, the Last Son of Krypton rounded up all the Kryptonite on Earth and destroyed it.

He kept a small portion and gave it to Batman, knowing that the Dark Knight would not hesitate to use it if Superman turned evil. Batman seemed like the right choice since he has been forced to use Kryptonite on Supes when he was controlled by villains such as Brainiac and Poison Ivy.

Little did the Man of Steel know that Batman already had Kryptonite. Not only does he have an entire safe loaded with the conventional Green Kryptonite but almost every other type: Gold Kryptonite, which depowers Kryptonians; Red Kryptonite, which destabilises Superman abilities; and Blue Kryptonite, which weakens Superman's clone, Bizarro.

None of the Justice League knows the Kryptonite Room exists and it's not certain if Alfred or Robin are aware of it. Although Batman hates keeping secrets from Superman, he believes it is in his best interest as the Kryptonite Room might one day prove to be the only thing that stops the Man of Steel from going rogue.
