10 Things You Didn't Know About Thor

1. His First Live-Action Appearance Came In The Eighties

Although Chris Hemsworth is very much the first person we think of when we think of Thor, he's not actually the first actor to take on the role in a live-action setting. Instead, that first appearance came in 1988's The Incredible Hulk Returns, a made for TV movie spinning off from the iconic Bill Bixby/Lou Ferrigno seventies series.

In this instance, Thor was portrayed by Steve Levitt and Eric Kramer respectively, the former playing one half of the character as Donald Blake, and the latter playing the other half as the Odinson himself. The difference this time around is that Thor has been banished from Valhalla, not Asgard (a bizarre choice, seeing as how Valhalla is the residence of those typically felled in battle), and that the god himself - not Hulk - is the one spoiling for a fight.

The two make amends in any case, and team up to stop a sinister group from disturbing Banner's attempts to rid himself of the Hulk forever. It's not MCU quality by any means, and indeed, Kramer's Thor would struggle to win over fans of Hemsworth Thunder God any day of the week. It is fun though, and, at the end of the day, isn't that what Marvel's all about?
