10 Things You Need To Know About The Fantastic Four

4. Reed Richards Is A Bit Of A D*ck

Fantastic Four
Marvel Comics

He may well be one of the biggest brains in all of comics, but Reed Richards is also a bit of a d*ck.

Reed is never anything but completely and utterly dedicated to his work and in making the world a better place, but that so often comes at the expense of those closest to him. Often totally unaware of this, Mister Fantastic has good intentions - it's just that his nearest and dearest are left longing for his attention.

At various points across the years, we've seen Reed's wife Sue become romantically involved with Namor the Sub-Mariner, and it's hard not to take a sympathetic view to Sue's actions. With a husband who can have a painful habit of treating her as an afterthought, the Invisible Woman can only take so much neglect before she ultimately acts on the admiring glances that someone like Namor consistently makes towards her.

Likewise, Reed's attitude of science and technology being at the forefront of every waking minute of his day has led to him similarly shunting his best pal Ben Grimm, his brother-in-law Johnny Storm, and even his children Franklin and Valeria.

What's great about the Fantastic Four is that they have their everyday problems and that they have those everyday family interactions that we can all relate to, but there are so many times when it becomes impossible not to think of Reed Richards as being a total ass.
