The end of Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo's epic Endgame storyline Batman book wrought some major changes upon Batman. Like the fact that he's dead. Following another knock-down drag-out slobberknocker with The Joker, both Caped Crusader and his arch nemesis were buried beneath tonnes of rubble in a cave system under Gotham. Batman's died and come back plenty of times, but Snyder and Capullo are aiming to make this demise stick for at least a little while. In his absence, Gotham's been doing okay taking The Joker out certainly helped things. But it's still not exactly a peaceful, friendly, crime-free city. A new Batman is needed. And from the looks of it, a local company definitely not called Omni Consumer Products is happy to provide, developing a bunny-eared robotic Batman-branded suit that works in concert with the Gotham City Police Department. And who is piloting this Bubblegum Crisis-on-steroids? None other than Comissioner Jim Gordon. Who now has a mohawk. Yes, the future of Batman is a brave new world, and has more than a little of RoboCop to it. This new status quo also introduces fan-favourite Renee Montoya to the New 52. And Harvey Bullock is desperate to get rid of her, perhaps with new Bat's help...
