10 Things You Need To Know About The Future Of DC Comics
4. Green Arrow Has A War On His Hands
Nobody was expecting Arrow to be a hit, least of all DC. That's why the publisher initially struggled to capitalise on the phenomenal popularity of the CW series, before eventually managing to draft in show writers writers Andrew Kreisberg and Ben Sokolowski, and artist Daniel Sampere onto the Green Arrow book, bringing the comic more in line with the series. They've buggered off now, and left Oliver Queen in much the same way he started off at the beginning of Arrow: stipped of his riches, dropped off the radar, on an adventure to find himself. Except in the hands of new writer Ben Percy and artist Patrick Zircher, it's all gone a bit Easy Rider. Check that chopper. That short story in the Sneak Peek preview is just a set up for what's really going to be happening in the future Green Arrow book, though. Ollie finally returns home after panicked messages from his sister-from-another-mister Emiko overwhelmed by a horde of ninja assassins. With Star City on fire in the background. Bit apocalyptic, to say the least.
