10 Things You Need To Know About The Future Of DC Comics
3. Green Lantern Is On The Run
Hal Jordan is now the main Green Lantern, since Kyle Rayner is apparently out of the picture permanently (or as permanent as death is in superhero comics, so maybe three or fourth months, tops). Rather than making the most of that opportunity, though, he's apparently quite the Green Lantern Corps for good, and gone on the run instead. Nice one, Hal. Apparently soon to be the most wanted fugitive in the universe, the new Green Lantern status quo is less space cop, more vigilante space cowboy. He's laying low, knocking the usual glittering emerald costume on the head in favour of long hair and a green hooded cloak, reminiscent of his days as The Spirit. Hal Jordan: Renegade has his power ring embedded in his glove, too, which is new. From the looks of it Green Lantern is looking to stop being such a square, and the channel the rebellious, devil-may-care air of Guardians Of The Galaxy. Which is no bad thing, since Hal Jordan arguably fits the loveable arsehole role even better than Peter Quill, legendary Star-Lord.
