Another big revelation from Atlantic City Boardwalk Con's Secret Wars panel came from writer Charles Soule, who said that following the event there would be a series starring a new team of survivors from dead universes. Take his follow-up comment that it will literally be called New Team Of Survivors From Dead Universes with a pinch of salt. Still, the idea that some of the alternate characters from Secret Wars might survive but not be fully integrated into the new Marvel Universe is a tantalising one. Mainly because it sounds like the premise of Exiles, the cult classic series that saw a bunch of alternate X-Men fixing problems in the multiverse. Exiles was like Secret Wars as an ongoing, with weird spins on familiar heroes travelling to similarly familiar and unfamiliar worlds. The prospect of them possibly returning and expanding their roster further to include all kinds of different versions of other Marvel heroes, is very exciting indeed. It also teases one more big thing... Namely, that there might be a multiverse to traverse. So perhaps Secret Wars doesn't end with all of the universe collapsed in on itself, but reborn as something new and exciting. We can but hope...
