10 Things You Need To Know About The Future Of Marvel

2. ...As Might Weirdworld

One of the other more interesting stories being brought back to four-colour life in the course of Secret Wars is Weirdworld. As Howling Commandos looks back to the forgotten age of Marvel's horror comics, Weirdworld is a relic of the publisher's fantasy books, often published in over-sized magazine format similar to the likes of Heavy Metal. The Secret Wars Weirdworld is written by Thor's Jason Aaron, with gorgeous painted covers and interiors from Michael Del Mundo. A dimension of magic slightly to the left of the regular Marvel Universe, the stars of the Weirdworld comics were a pair of elves called Tyndall and Velanna. It was a bit silly. Aaron and Del Mundo's Weirdworld is presumably set in a similar realm, only it will star Arkon €“ another forgotten character from Marvel's fantasy age. It looks like the publisher is looking to bring back that aspect of their books more permanently, with whispers that Weirdworld will be continuing on after Secret Wars too. Get in on that Game Of Thrones money.
