10 Things You Need To Know About The Future Of Marvel
5. Maestro Will Be A Major Villain
There's a lot of great tie-ins coming out in the wake of Secret Wars, with one of the more underrated being a return to Future Imperfect. A mostly-forgotten era in the history of the Incredible Hulk saw Bruce Banner joining a secret organisation of super-people called The Pantheon, who went on a bit of a time-travelling jaunt to a dark future. A dark future where most superheroes were dead and the globe was ruled with an iron fist by Maestro, who turned out over the course of that storyline to be an evil future version of the Jolly Green Giant himself: a terrible merging of Bruce Banner's intellect and the more monstrous aspects of the Hulk's personality. It's not clear what Peter David and Greg Land's Future Imperfect series will be like during Secret Wars, but expect to see a lot more of Maestro when it's over. So said David himself at Atlantic City Boardwalk Con, on a panel about the aftermath of Secret Wars, suggesting Maestro will be a major villain in the Marvel Universe going forward.
