10 Times Batman Got It Wrong

2. Letting Pride Get In The Way

Not always listening to the advice or concerns of those around you is a defence mechanism employed by many heroes. When weighing up what to do next, being bombarded with problems and things that could go wrong would stop even the bravest from acting. However, this should never be a blanket rule.

2005’s DC Countdown - or more famously, Countdown to Infinite Crisis - began a series of events that nearly destroyed everything and everyone. However, the majority of the Justice League missed a valuable opportunity to get out in front of one of the global threats headed their way by ignoring Blue Beetle and his alarm that someone seemed to have stolen almost all of his money.

And we’re not talking a small amount. Blue Beetle, AKA Ted Kord, is the owner and CEO of KORD Industries, a rival company of Wayne Enterprises. So, you can imagine how much money we’re talking here.

Though almost the whole Justice League disregard Blue Beetle’s call for help, our Caped Crusader is particularly harsh with his dismissal. When Kord comes to him personally, to warn him that Wayne Enterprises is being manipulated like his own company was, Bruce lets his dislike for his rival get the better of him, dismissing him totally.

Unbeknownst to our crew of crime fighters, Blue Beetle has stumbled upon the term O.M.A.C in his search for his missing fortune, a foreshadowing of things to come and what would have been a valuable lead if anyone had bothered to listen, including the World’s Greatest Detective.

Hello. I'm a fellow human mammal who enjoys human things, like consumming nourishment and entertainment. I feed a small black feline who broke into my house and won't leave, she sometimes responds to Ninja. You probably can't even tell how uncomfortable I am talking about myself. Enjoy your day.
