10 Times Batman Proved He Was No Hero

1. Just Being Rich

It's more than a little odd to think that the most beloved hero of a city that's infamous for rampant poverty and extreme inequality is also the richest person in that city. Bruce Wayne was born rich, and inherited a fortune, and has only gotten richer over the years, while people without that extreme privilege starve in The Narrows.

Yes, I know Bruce donates to charity and hosts charity events, but billionaire philanthropy is notoriously problematic, to say the least (and there's no shortage of articles and videos on that topic all over the internet).

While we can't analyze all of Bruce's financial involvements, since he's not a real person, it is clearly evident that he remains exceedingly wealthy, while the poor are still fighting over scraps, so despite making a big show of generosity with the Wayne Foundation and other endeavors, Bruce really hasn't done anything to change the status quo.

The poor stay poor and Bruce gets richer. Considering the suffering caused by economic inequality, it's clear that the system Bruce is profiting off of is much more harmful to the people of Gotham, and the world, than The Joker could ever hope to be.
