10 Times Comics Changed Because Of The Fans

10. Savage Dragon Meets Jimbo Da Mighty Lobster

Founded as an avenue for big artists to actually own characters they worked on, Image Comics allowed Todd MacFarlane to go hog wild with demonic vigilante Spawn, Rob Liefeld to rip off every Marvel character going, and Erik Larsen... Well, Larsen €“ who had made a name for himself picking up where MacFarlane's Spider-Man run left off €“ went in a different direction from all of them. He started a book called Savage Dragon, about a big green superpowered cop he created when he was ten years old. It's weird. And kinda great. It's reached 200 issues at this point, and a lot's happened. Several big twists have been all down to the steady readership, though, from the fan who won a chance to get drawn into an issue (and punched), a vote to decide who Dragon married, and then there's the create-a-villain contest that birthed Jimbo Da Mighty Lobster, a half-man, half-crustacean who swears a lot. Yep.
