10 Times Passing The Superhero Torch Was For The Better

8. Ms. Marvel

Spider-Man Miles Morales Peter Parker
Marvel Comics

Ms. Marvel is a character who is extremely important.

Her first comic run offers a great story all about the nature of superhero fandom, but it also highlights what it is like to be a Muslim superhero. Having a character that brings these things to light has harnessed the attention of fans all over the world, but undoubtedly one of the best things about Kamala Khan is that young Muslim children get to see themselves reflected in the Marvel Universe.

There is a large segment about Kamala Khan in the new Disney+ docu-series “Marvel: 616”, where co-creator Sana Amanat talks about the character in high regard. Sure, having another carbon copy superhero is fun and fills in the ranks of the Avengers, but Ms. Marvel is unique. Her powers aren’t pretty, her costume demands attention, and like another entry on this list, Kamala is breathing new life into the world of Marvel.

With her own Disney+ series on the way, Kamala Khan is having her time in the spotlight and is surely going to be a household name in the near future.
