6. Outsmarting Red Skull (While A Dead Brain) - Avengers & X-Men: AXIS #9
Outsmarting the Red Skull is, generally, not the hardest thing in the world. Outsmarting the Red Skull while you are dead, however, is significantly more difficult - and also the situation that Professor X finds himself in after the Nazi scoops out his brain to power himself with Xavier's psychic abilities.
Charles retains just enough power to project himself into Rogue's dreams, warning her of Skull's impending threat and giving her a full run-down of how to stop the villain. Perhaps even more impressively, it is Xavier who finally undoes all of the bad Red Skull does in the AXIS series, taking control of his body in order to team up with Doctor Doom and Scarlet Witch to put the world back to normal.
Managing to outsmart someone from beyond the grave is nothing short of impressive - even if Professor X does do all of this looking like a human jack-o'-lantern.
