10 Times Spider-Man Was Forced To Kill

7. Sunk Gog In Quicksand

Kravens Last Hunt
Marvel Comics

Now, this is the Spider-Man we all know and love. Well, maybe not quite, because the beginning of Amazing Spider-Man #104 sees Peter Parker sent on a weirdly high-budget photo-op for the Daily Bugle to the Savage Land, where he spends most of time taking snaps of Gwen Stacy in a bikini. Which were probably more for his own private use. Then, uh-oh, King Kong homage time!

They stumble across one of the Savage Land's many hidden tribes, who in this case worship Gog, an incredibly powerful quasi-human with scales, scant understanding of English, but certainly is sentient. After seeing him take out a T-Rex without missing a beat, Spidey decides to take drastic action.

After almost drowning in quicksand like a big idiot himself in the previous issue, he again leads Gog there...and lets him die. At least this victory involves the wall crawler swinging away, doubting the morality of his actions and feeling dirty. Oh, so you feel bad for the ancient monsters...
