10 Times Spider-Man Was Forced To Kill

4. Ate Morlun

A lot of these examples so far have focussed on a callous undertone to Peter Parker's masked superhero work that remains mostly untapped. For one of his more gruesome murders, thankfully, he wasn't fully himself, as it came in the middle of the sprawling, difficult-to-explain crossover arc The Other.

So, in a nuthsell, The Other involved Spider-Man getting all weak and disorientated, learning after being treated for a bullet wound that he's dying. He travels the Marvel Universe looking for somebody who can save him, but to no avail. It's pretty clear he's going to croak it. But not before one last hurrah! First he strangles the assassin Tracer, who planned to kill his Aunt May.

Confronted by mystical villain Morlun on his death bed, and seemingly possessed, he leaps up and, um, eats him. Like, cannibal-style. It's gross. Then Peter Parker dies and is resurrected thanks to being part-Spider-God. Hooray!
