10 Times Superheroes Fought The WRONG Villain

8. Justice League And Terminus - JLA/Avengers

Daredevil Mysterio
DC Comics/Marvel Comics

One of the all time greatest comic book crossovers was - of course - JLA/Avengers, the epic maxi-series detailing the one (canonical) time when the DC and Marvel universes went head to head.

The story revolves around the DC villain Kronos striking a deal with the Grandmaster to decide whether or not Kronos gets to see the origin of all life (which would require destroying all life, which is why he can't just - ya know - HAVE it).

The story properly begins with an epic as hell use of in media res, where the Justice League are fighting the Marvel villain Terminus. Since he's something they'd never seen before, naturally they have a pretty hard time of it at first, but eventually they are able to wear the giant alien robot thing down. Which of course just leaves them with the question of the hour: what in 13 and 1/4 hells was that thing?

Fortunately, they don't have to wait long for an answer, as the story very quickly gets moving at top speed.
