10 Times Superheroes Fought The WRONG Villain
7. Blue Beetle And Giganta - Blue Beetle #19
One of the biggest hurdles for rebooting a hero with a new guy/girl is coming up with a brand new rogues gallery for them to fight.
The reboot of Blue Beetle actually managed to circumvent this problem by having the new villains be a constant presence in Jaime's life, and the lack of a memorable original rogues gallery in either his or his predecessor's arsenal was made up for by having those main villains hire or outsource other DC villains to do their dirty work.
In the 19th issue of the 2006 run of Blue Beetle, La Dama - Jaime's crime boss rival and loving aunt to one of his best friends - is attacked by Wonder Woman baddie Giganta.
As she chases La Dama through the streets, every trick Blue Beetle tries to bring her down bounces right off of her because he's trying to subdue her like she's a normal woman, when in actuality, being - well - gigantic, requires you to magically enhance your body so that it can handle the strain of being that large without collapsing into a pile of broken bones and screaming.
Only when he internalizes Peacemaker's lesson about the subtleties of the human body does he finally figure out how to use Giganta's size against her.
