5. Thanos Is Arrested By The NYPD - Spidey Super Stories #39
As the title 'Super Spidey Stories', suggests, this particular Spider-Man series is not one that always focuses on realism. Although this mostly manifests in ways you can easily ignore, there are odd occasions where there are moments simply too weird to not stand out - as is best shown when Spider-Man defeats Thanos, and he is then promptly arrested by the NYPD.
With Thanos being considered a huge threat in the wake of his imposing presence in Infinity War, seeing the very human and very unpowered NYPD peacefully take in the Mad Titan feels more like a wild fever dream than anything you'd see in an actual comic.
It also seems pretty reckless of Spider-Man, as the minute Thanos decides he doesn't actually want to be arrested, the entire squadron is likely to be brutally slaughtered.
Admittedly, it's not the weirdest thing to happen in Super Spidey Stories, as that award goes to literally any issue that involves the Avengers, who are almost hilariously out of character any and every time you see them.
It's a very close second, though. And given just how weird the series is, that's saying a lot.
