10 Times The Avengers Ruined Bruce Banner's Life

No wonder he's always so angry.

If there was a list of Avengers who'd been most mistreated by their own team, the Hulk would land solidly at the top of that list. He's been beaten, maimed, exiled, bullied, shot with experimental weapons and launched unwillingly into space - all by his own teammates. Over the years, the list of things that supposed superheroes have done to the unfortunate pea-green pushover probably outweigh the misdeeds that some supervillains have done to him, which is more than a little worrying to think about.

Wilder yet, these things are often not even done in retaliation to Bruce 'hulking out', but rather a series of weird attacks on a guy who is generally just trying to make himself relax and to get away from society, which are the two most relatable concepts in the world.

Bruce Banner and his little green friend aren't the easiest team mates in the world, sure. But that doesn't really justify half the stuff they've done to him, especially when you keep in mind they're doing all of it to a seemingly indestructible entity who also tends to break things when he's been irritated.

With friends like these, it's not all that surprising that the Hulk has anger management problems.

10. Letting His Corpse Be Stolen By Villains - Uncanny Avengers (Vol. 3) #15

If, god forbid, one of your nearest and dearest were to pass away, there's one unspoken rule that you now follow, as their friend and loved one: don't let someone steal their body, for whatever reason they may have to steal it.

Unfortunately, in the Uncanny Avengers we see that rule well and truly tossed out of the window, as the 'Avengers Unity Division', otherwise known as an offshoot of the actual team, manage to complete fail protecting or recovering the Hulk's body when the Hand go after it. Having gotten the gamma-infused body, the Hand promptly go about doing some dark magic to awaken him once more, leading to the Hulk to only being unable to die, but also stuck under the control of a team of legitimate villains.

You could blame just the Avengers Unity Division, but guess who appointed them to look after their best buds' body? That's right, the actual Avengers, meaning the responsibility lies just as squarely on their shoulders.
