10 Times Villains Stole Superheroes’ Powers

1. Libra Steals The Justice League's Powers - Justice League Of America #111

DC Comics

A natural overachiever, the JLA villain Libra was not satisfied with taking the power of just one hero, and so decides to steal the powers of all of the Justice League, starting with Aquaman and the Green Lantern, and moving on to take down more imposing threats like Superman and the Flash.

Libra is able to do this with the help of his 'Energy Transmortifier', which takes half of the powers of anyone he used it on, and allows him to wield them. Notably, this machine wasn't limited to solely superpowers, as Justin Ballantine also steals half of Batman's intelligence, much to the hero's chagrin.

However, Libra's thirst for power ends up being his undoing, as when the villain tries to use it on the universe itself, the power overloads his body, and Ballantine is absorbed into the cosmos themselves - which is at least a cool death, if nothing else.

I like my comics like I like my coffee - in huge, unquestionably unhealthy doses.
