10 Times Villains Stole Superheroes’ Powers

8. Deathstroke Steals Kid Flash's Speed Force - Teen Titans (Vol. 6) #8

In a classic example of how Deathstroke is constantly shifting between hero and villain, Teen Titans #8 sees the eye-patch wearing world's worst dad kidnap both Kid Flash and the Flash, and then steal Kid Flash's ability to connect to the Speed Force, harnessing it to then take on the remaining Teen Titans.

This theft is especially cruel, because Wallace agrees to help Slade with his plan - but the villain takes his powers anyway, and then turns them on Kid Flash's closest friends and allies. That said, it's not as though Deathstroke's intentions are themselves evil, as he only really wants the speedster's powers in order to try and go back in time and prevent his son's death.

However, this plan fails each time Slade goes back, and ends up failing permanently when Robin briefly stops Kid Flash's heart, in order to 'shut off' the source the villain is getting his powers from. After being defeated by the Titans, Deathstroke turns to the side of good again, proving once more that Deathstroke is never a hero or a villain for longer than a couple of comic issues.
