10 Times Villains Stole Superheroes’ Powers
3. Red Skull Steals Professor X's Brain - Uncanny Avengers #1
Taking storylines involving the theft of Professor X's telepathic powers to its logical, gross conclusion, the Uncanny Avengers starts off by showing us Red Skull taking Xavier's powers via the means of scooping his brain out of his corpse, in a surprisingly graphic scene that sets the tone for the rest of the series.
After implanting parts of the mutant leader's brain into his own, Red Skull uses his newfound telepathic abilities to create a news broadcast that influences people to kill any mutants near them. The Nazi continues this telepathically-generated violence until he's stopped by the Avengers, and even then, he manages to escape in order to wreak even more havoc on the Marvel universe.
This reign of terror would be ended during the AXIS storyline, which would end with Beast performing surgery on Red Skull in order to remove the portions of Xavier's brain he had stolen, reverting the villain back to normal - or, as normal as a neo-Nazi with a red skull for a face can be.
