Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale's book, The Long Halloween, is seen by most comic book fans as one of the greatest in Batman's illustrious history, and rightly so. And with a tale this tall to tell, it's only fitting that the reveal in the final pages is one of pure brilliance.

With the heart of Gotham at stake, Batman, Commissioner Gordon, and D.A Harvey Dent make a pact to bring down the Falcone and Maroni crime families. Along the way, Harvey is scarred and becomes Two-Face, there are appearances from most of the Dark Knight's rogue galleries but the underlying pulse to this story is that of the killer known as Holiday.

Showing up out of no-where, and killing off anyone who he comes across, Holiday is a one-man murder spree. Eventually, he is caught by the Bat and revealed to be none other than Carmine Falcone's son, Alberto, who confesses to everything and is sentenced to death.

With everything seemingly wrapped up in a nice little bow, it comes as a huge "Oh My God!" moment when Gilda Dent, Harvey's wife, is seen burning the items of the serial killer in her furnace and openly confessing, via monologue, that she was, in fact, the first person to don the Holiday monicker.
