7. Professor X And Magneto Are Onslaught
When Magneto finally decided he's had enough of Wolverine and rips his adamantium skeleton clean out of his body, Charles Xavier decided that he'd finally had enough too. Shutting down Magneto's mind seems like a good idea at the time but as he does it all of his anger, rage, and taste for vengeance spills into Chuck.
This causes all of Professor X's own, personal grief at the treatment of Mutants for the past 30 years to rise to the surface, spawning the entity known as Onslaught.
Planning to destroy the human race by creating a second sun, it takes the combined forces of the X-Men, the Avengers, and the Fantastic Four (as well as Doctor Doom) to bring him down, seemingly at the cost or the latter two's collective lives.
The most mind-blowing part of all this is that it's Charles Xavier who is responsible for all the chaos and carnage that happens, finally having enough of the decades of hatred that he's had to endure.
This shows that if he wanted to, and God knows he must've been tempted in the past, Charles Xavier could bring the world to its knees. Even if it takes Magneto's influence to change his mind.
