When Doc Ock finds out he is dying from all the injuries he has sustained over the years, in his battles with Super-Heroes, to say he isn't happy about it is a slight understatement. So being the genius villain he is, he decides that it makes sense to swap his consciousness with that of Peter Parker.

And wouldn't you know it, the man who usually fails at everything he tries actually goes and bloody pulls it off. Leaving Pete to face death inside his old, failing body.

This is a big enough plot twist as it is, but to then have Parker die as Otto Octavius former vehicle finally craps out on him is just the icing on the cake.

But not everything is as peachy as it seems. Overwhelmed with guilt due to him inhabiting a mind that is still fresh with Peter's memories, he vows to change his evil ways and prove to the world that he is superior to his former nemesis in every conceivable way.

And over the next 33 issues of the Superior Spider-Man, that's exactly what he sets about doing. It's just a shame that they cut the comic off just when it was hitting its stride.
