10 Underpowered Characters Who Defeated Major Heroes

8. Muhammad Ali Vs. Superman

Superman Muhammad Ali
DC Comics

In a comic that is far, far more endearing than it has any right to be, Superman vs. Muhammad Ali shows that, for all his brawn, the Man of Steel could likely not face up to The Louisville Lip.

Although admittedly, this is entirely because Superman refuses to not fight fair against the boxer, and uses a light bulb replica of the red sun to weaken his powers, in order leave the two with sheerly their fighting skills remaining.

That said, Superman's fighting abilities - powers or no - should still be significantly above that of Ali's, as one of them fights people, and the other fights all-powerful alien fighting machines on the regular. Logically, Muhammad Ali should have had absolutely no chance versus Kent, but instead, it's made clear it's entirely the other way around, with Ali handily beating Superman across the ring.

The comic may be a little bias in making Ali the wittiest and strongest character in it - but then, the champ was these things, so it's pretty fair to do so.

I like my comics like I like my coffee - in huge, unquestionably unhealthy doses.
