10 Underpowered Characters Who Defeated Major Heroes

3. Joker Vs. Superman

Superman Muhammad Ali
DC Comics

With Superman being pretty much invulnerable to attack from most supervillains - the Joker included - doing any kind of harm to him requires a little thinking outside of the box.

In Injustice, Joker manages just this, by lacing the inside of his evil submarine lair with fear toxin laced kryptonite, which made the Man of Steel hallucinate that Doomsday was attacking him, when in actuality it was Lois Lane, who an unaware Superman flew into space. If this didn't seem cruel enough, the Joker also rigged up a bomb in Metropolis to her heart rate, which would explode upon her death.

And thus, in one fell swoop, Joker gets Superman to kill Lois, their unborn child, and blow up half of Metropolis, which isn't bad for a day's evil work.

Superman does try and even things out by killing the Joker in suitably dramatic fashion, but unfortunately Joker cares unimaginably little about his own mortality, meaning - especially with the hero vs. hero carnage that takes place after - that Injustice marks the Joker's biggest victory over the Man of Steel.
