10 Underpowered Characters Who Defeated Major Heroes
2. Deacon Blackfire Vs. Batman
Proving that charisma should be a legitimate superpower, Deacon Blackfire - despite a seeming total lack of not only superpowers, or even any real fighting abilities - takes down Batman handily.
For the majority of his first appearance in DC - in Batman: The Cult - the hero is decisively beaten by him, with Blackfire brainwashing him to make him do his bidding, which includes making the Dark Knight break his one rule and kill a man. It's as impressive as it is surprising, and really works well in terms of reminding us that Batman is human, and could be taken down by any of the enemies that he goes against.
Batman does clearly have the physical advantage, as when the two actually fight, it's an incredibly one-sided contest. But in terms of managing to force Batman to carry out his will, Deacon clearly also managed to beat the Bat down for a good while.
