8. Superman Will Go To Terrible Lengths To Protect His Secret Identity
Lex also has another concern that we the readers have more insight into. Just how far will Superman go to protect his other self? He doesn't know that Superman is really Clark Kent. So this means that Lex doesn't know that Superman let his own beloved adopted father die to protect the secret, even after all the kids at school had at least some idea of how Clark was different. Plus he let Jonathan die over a dog; a supremely stupid reason, unless the alien sees humans and dogs as being the same. On a similar note, just how many times has Superman been unable to respond to a disaster because he's stuck in his secret identity? How many have died because Superman would not reveal himself? Lex also doesn't know that Superman mind-raped Lois Lane with a super-kiss to erase her knowledge of his secret self. Or about that time the alien de-powered a clone of himself, performed super-plastic-surgery to give the poor guy a new face, and then mind-wiped him into thinking he was someone else entirely. Talk about your human rights violations!
