Lex is a man of science. He understands that it is the prerogative of every species to continue itself. As it is for the lowliest of creatures, so it is for Kryptonians. But for decades, Kal-El thought himself to be alone in the universe leaving him with only humans to pursue. The two that Lex is most aware of are Lana Lang and Lois Lane. Both of these attempts by the alien to find a mate were personally insulting to Lex. He had known these women for many years and had considered Lois Lane as a potential mate for himself. But she rejected him for the thickly-haired, Adonis-like alien. A bitter pill. But were these the only attempts by the Kryptonian to find a human mate? How many less public courtships has the alien attempted, perhaps while in his human disguise? Apparently none of his efforts to reproduce had been successful for Superman appears to have abandoned romance with main-line humans as he is now involved with Wonder Woman, herself a hybrid of humanity and the alien Olympian race. It is unknown whether Lex is aware of Kal-El's brief dalliance with the merwoman Lori Lemurius or his juvenile flirtations in the far-future with humanoid super-beings Phantom Girl, Saturn Girl, and Triplicate Girl. How far afield will Superman go in his efforts to reproduce? He's coupled with two different members of the Apokalyptian race (albeit while mind-controlled). He is colleagues with a female Thanagarian and has regular contact with female Rannians, Almeracians, Tamaraneans, and Korugarians. What sort of genetic horror will result from hybridising the Kryptonian gene-line with another species? If he is successful in coupling with a human female, consider that one theory as to why Neanderthals and Cro-Magnon men died out is because they were out competed by their hybrid children.
