8. Ambush Bug
Created by Keith Griffen, Ambush Bug was an attempt by him to create the silliest character imaginable.
On the doomed planet of Schwab, fashion designer Brum-El (a reference to 18th Century fashion designer Beau Brummel, but you probably already knew that) sent his clothes off into space so that they would survive its destruction. However, the clothes were hit by a radioactive space spider and crashed on Earth.
One of the items of clothing was a green suit which was found by a man named Irwin Schwab. The suit gave Irwin the ability to teleport anywhere in the multiverse and he became the superhero (more or less) Ambush Bug.
Alternatively, he's completely delusional and that entire origin is a lie.
As his powers would imply, Ambush Bug has a habit of popping into other heroes comics from out of nowhere and annoying them with his fourth-wall breaking antics. He has also appeared in a few series of his own, teaming up with his sidekick Cheeks, the Toy Wonder (a random doll he found) to fight villains like Argh! Yle! (a sentient sock from the planet Schwab) and Jonni DC (a continuity cop chasing after Bug for breaking canon).
