10 Weird Moments You Forgot Happened In Iconic Comics

2. Wonder Woman's Opinion On Slavery

As Wonder Woman, Diana of Themyscira has battled many great foes such as Cheetah, Ares, Darkseid, Medusa, and Zeus. Although The Baroness, Paula von Gunther isn't as iconic, she is important because she is the first recurring supervillainess in comic book history. She is also one of the only villains from the comics to appear in the 1975 tv series, Wonder Woman.

Her first bout with the Amazonian was pretty straight-forward. As the leader of a Nazi spy ring, she brainwashes several female government employees to work for her. Wonder Woman infiltrates her base, rescues the girls, and puts an end to the Baroness' scheme.

This seems like a perfect place for the story to end. But it doesn't. When one of the girls tells Diana how horrifying it was to be under someone else's control, Wonder Woman says "If girls want to be slaves, there's no harm in that. The bad thing for them is submitting to a master or an evil mistress like Paula. A good mistress could do wonders with them!"
