10 Weirdest Comic Crossovers Of All Time

5. The Punisher Meets Archie

The Punisher/Archie crossover is definitely one of the more interesting ones, if only because the Punisher and Archie are at two opposite ends of the ‘wholesome innocent boy’ scale. This is tipped slightly further by the fact that the Punisher does go to kill Archie at one point, but that is forgivable, given it is his standard greeting at this point.

Interestingly, the jarring contrast between grizzled murderer and bow-tie clad schoolboy are actually emphasised, with characters from Archie staying in the simplified cartoon form, and characters from the Punisher keeping the more classic superhero appearance.

Seeing these two different styles in the same panels is as strange as it is interesting, because it manages to work both on a visual level, and a plot one. It’s often common in crossovers for one comic to have to adapt into the style of the other, so it’s unique to see a crossover that avoids this, while also making it work in its favour.
