10 Weirdest Comic Fan Theories You Won’t Believe Exist

6. Superman Is Sand Superman

DC Comics

As the most underrated sand duplicate in DC - as he is the only sand duplicate in DC - it's always nice to see people remember that Sand Superman is, in fact, real. And nowhere is this more celebrated than in one delightful fan theory which posits that, when Superman fought his seaside foe, Sand Superman actually won, and that the Man of Steel we've seen ever since is in fact secretly a monster made out of your nearest beach.

Indeed, several comics made after this event legitimately appeared to suggest this was true - with Superman taking on a sandy appearance while near death, and seemingly losing his weakness to magical weapons and Kryptonite.

However, good things can never last, and thus Flashpoint well and truly killed any chance of the ultimate plot twist by having the Man of Steel be a sand-based creature the whole time. We can always dream, we suppose.
