10 Weirdest Fantastic Four Villains Of All Time
2. Hate-Monger
At a first glance, the Hate-Monger seems like a generic villain. He is a cloaked rabble-rouser who uses a Hate-Ray to convert people to bigotry. After he used his weapon on the Fantastic Four, the team become so disruptive and argumentative, they decide to disband. After the team realised they were being manipulated by the Hate-Monger, the Fantastic Four join forces to stop the evil-doer.
The story ends with the group defeating and unmasking the Hate-Monger, only to reveal that he is none other than... a clone of Adolf Hitler! Decades ago, the former German leader ordered the Red Skull's lead bio-chemist, Arnim Zola, to create clones of him in the case of his death.
Unsurprisingly, the identity of Hate-Monger was considered non-sensical and highly inappropriate by readers. What makes this revelation more laughable is the teaser on the book's cover which reads, "Don't dare reveal his true identity after reading this tale!" as if this is a story is one for the ages.
Although the Hate-Monger seemingly died at the end of this issue, he transferred his consciousness into a new body and went after Nick Fury to destroy SHIELD. He only made a handful more appearances before the character was discontinued.
