10 Weirdest Fantastic Four Villains Of All Time

3. Mole Man

Mole Man
Marvel Comics

The first villain the Fantastic Four ever faced (as well as the first supervillain under the Marvel banner) was Harvey Elder, who is better-known as the Mole Man. Elder was an explorer who was ridiculed for his obsession with the archaic Hollow Earth theory. This concept suggests that the interior of the Earth isn’t solid and it may house a lost city.

While exploring ancient ruins, Elder fell down a cave and landed in an underground realm known as Subterranea. Subterranea used to be the home to the ancient civilisation, the Deviants. Arming himself with Deviant technology, the Mole Man invaded the surface world with his subterranean monsters to punish humanity for mocking him.

Elder spent so long in Subterranea that it altered his senses. Elder is nearly blind and wears Eskimo-like glasses because he can no longer look at direct light. His hearing, smell, and touch are more sensitive than a normal person and he has a radar sense, which allows him to detect objects within his vicinity. Despite his diminutive appearance, he’s an excellent bojutsu fighter and has the agility of a man in his 20s.

It's also worth mentioning that he briefly served time as an actual mole.
