All of the various cosmic beings which make up Marvels web of God-like beings only gets all the more complex when you exit the 16-dimensional space. Its like the Kabbalah or something (but the proper sort, not the one where Madonna buys water for lots of money). The system is most often represented by the intervention of beings called the Celestials. First appearing in 1976s Eternals #1, created by writer-artist Jack Kirby, the Celestials are supposedly the oldest beings in the Marvel Universe. And for some reason they chose the appearance of twenty-feet tall off-brand Power Rangers who routinely show up with the intention of eradicating Earth because theyve gone off the idea. Rather than having a single God to create existence, in Marvel Comics it was the work of billions of these Celestials, who were there right at the birth of the universe and created live, death, and the multiverse. Most of them got killed by a 25,000-foot-tall robot called the Godkiller. Now theres a handful left, and theyre angsty. Giant angsty space gods.
