10 Worst Superpowers Of The 21st Century

5. Glob Herman

Ah, mutants. Marvel's biggest shared origin, mutation, is commonly used when they simply can't come up with a more original background story for a character. However, mutation is, by its nature, random, and for every character given a useful or impressive power by the x-gene, there should be dozens more with useless, or even harmful, 'gifts.'

Both readers and in-world characters have criticised the X-Men for only really focusing on the pretty mutants with the flashy powers. Even characters like Beast and Nightcrawler, while visually unattractive, had powers and abilities that made up for it. And so, over time, the X-Men have introduced a variety of mutants with less than appealing power sets.

One such character is Glob Herman, whose mutation resulted in his body turning into a giant lump of 'bio-paraffin' with his internal organs and skeleton clearly visible inside. Basically, Glob is made of living, highly flammable, wax. And although this does give him a certain degree of enhanced strength, for the most part his only ability is pulling lumps of living wax from his body and throwing them at people. Ok, so he may be functionally immortal. But if you looked like that, would you want to be?

With a (nearly) useless degree in English literature and a personal trainer qualification he's never used, Freddie spends his times writing things that he hopes will somehow pay the rent. He's also a former professional singer, and plays the saxophone and ukulele. He's not really used to talking about himself in the third person, and would like to stop now, thanks.
