8. Blowing Up Luke Cage
It's the continuation of "Deadpool Kills The Marvel Universe #1". You're still reeling from the cold, masterfully executed mass murders he's already completed on some of your favourite heroes, and then this one comes along.
What makes this so terrible is how it confirms the fears of many of Deadpool's fans - and that of his enemies of course - which is that sometimes the merc' isn't simply a gun-slinging hot head, he's clever and sadistic.
During his rampage through Avengers tower and other complexes filled with super-powered-people Deadpool is confronted with the Unbreakable Luke Cage. Realising that the immaculately constructed miniature bombs - by way of Pym Particles of course - he'd created would merely wound the big man, Wade shows despicable cunning and plants the bombs in Luke's expresso. What makes this so jarring is that Wade allows Cage time to piece together what has happened just in time for him to count down from three, and watch parts of the Unbreakable fellow being broken all over the place.
Among other things, the sheer image of a beloved hero being quite literally taken apart is a harrowing sight indeed.
