10 Worst Things Spider-Man Has Ever Done

1Ultimate Spider-Man chronicled the adventures of Spider-Man as a teenager. In one issue he teamed up with the X-Men to fight Sabretooth. During the battle, Spidey came across a group of anti-mutant protesters (People angry at another group just for being different? Comics sure do come up with some crazy ideas sometimes) and one of them called him a "mutie freak". Instead of a witty retort, Peter simply responded by webbing up the woman's face to stop her talking.

Now obviously, this scene was meant as a throwaway joke. However, it takes a darker turn once you remember that Spider-Man's webbing takes about an hour to dissolve. With the woman's mouth and nose covered and no way to remove the super-strong webbing, she most definitely would have suffocated to death before it came off. Even for someone preaching hate and intolerance, that seems a little harsh.

Unsurprisingly, the fact that a teenage Peter Parker inadvertently murdered somebody for a joke was not brought up again in a later issue.
