Across his many decades of history, Wolverine has died a lot, as is practically a tradition with superheroes now. Many of these deaths involved alternate realities and timelines; the most famous of them, however, did not.

In the aptly titled Death of Wolverine miniseries, Logan was given a death that was more of an event - closer to the Death of Superman than say Punisher and Daredevil's speedy executions in Old Man Logan. Regardless of whether or not it was an event though, the moment itself wasn't exactly the greatest thing that happened to Wolverine, as it was, y'know, still his death.

The manner of death was not very quick either, Wolverine meeting his end by drowning in molten adamantium.
