10 Worst Things That Have Happened To The Joker

If there's one thing we don't often see from the Joker, it's him with a blank expression. A frown? Sure. An expression that is almost blank but clearly contains worlds of malice that is about to be utilised on some poor innocent suspect? Even more likely! But a totally, actually clear face is something that's as likely to appear on the clown as he is to start wearing solely jeans and a t-shirt.

And yet, the Joker's manic glee does leave his face in the plot of Swamp Thing #30, which sees the purple and green prince so completely limp after Anton Arcane manages to return to life. When Arcane becomes flesh once more on Earth, he causes a series of strange events to happen to plants, animals, and the unhinged population of Arkham Asylum.

We first see the Floronic Man, Jason Woodrue, beating his head into a door, before things somehow get even weirder. The scene cuts to the Joker, face and mind seemingly completely blank, having been totally mentally disturbed by the affect of Anton's revival. It's unclear who this ends up being more unsettling for, as it's pretty messed up for both the Joker himself, or the reader.
